Our Organization

The Little Kanawha Resource Conservation and Development Council (RC&D) is a non-profit organization of county commissioners, conservation district representatives, and community members.


We work within Calhoun, Jackson, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Tyler, Wetzel, Wirt, 

and Wood counties - known as the 

Little Kanawha RC&D council area.

We empower organizations, charities, and individuals to conserve, develop, and restore local resources.

The Little Kanawha RC&D works with government agencies, local organizations, and community members to support resource conservation and development projects.


We award grants and small business loans.

About Project Sharing

"Working with organizations that serve the underserved to improve the quality of life in our 9-county area" 


Project Sharing is an initiative of the Little Kanawha RC&D that supports local non-profits and charities in their efforts to help those in need by providing access to various household items, building supplies, and much more. 


Local organizations may visit the Project Sharing warehouse on Wednesdays from 9:00 - 2:00 at 2309 Gihon Road, Parkersburg, WV.

To apply for a mini-grant please email Info@lkrcd.com or call 304-558-4516. 


Eligible projects may be awarded up to $2,000. 


Projects must relate to land conservation, land management, or water management. 


New or existing natural resource based businesses may apply for a low-interest loan. Loan rates are usually fixed at 3% below typical business rates. Contact info@lkrcd.com to request an application or ask questions.


Project Sharing is open to non-profit organizations, charities, churches, and individuals serving those in need. 


Project Sharing distributes a wide variety of items including, but not limited to, food items, cleaning materials, personal care items, clothing items, paint, primer, tile, adhesives, screws, nails, doors, screens, sinks, blinds, shutters, lights, seasonal items, books, and much more. 

Our inventory changes as items are distributed and new items are received.  


If you are unable to visit on Wednesdays from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM, please email Info@lkrcd.com to schedule a time.
